Hey Rosie! It’s great to be back in the life of social media. Our mini vaca went fine – but home is always nice to return to. 🙂 This is a very helpful post as we’ve been looking at CreateSpace and trying to figure it out in case we decide to go that route. Right now, the novel is out on submission so we’re experiencing yet another wonderful lesson in patience. LOL!! Hope all is well with you and yours. Have a wonderful day! ~Janet~

Good to hear your vacation went well. 🙂 There are pros and cons in all choices, though if you decide to self-publish, I have been very pleased with CreateSpace. If you are going the free route, you obviously need to be able to do your own cover design, layout, and so forth, but it is very doable. I’ll be watching for when your book comes out in print!

I have to agree with you about CreateSpace. This is a good platform for self-publishing. I have formatted a few commercial and novel books from clients which are now sold in Amazon. Their submission guidelines are very easy to follow and when you are lost about the technical side of your book’s layout such as line spacing, section breaks, header, footer, odd-even page numbers, their community section is very helpful.

JUst one thing, if you want to save cost in doing your book layout, do not opt for their layout and design service. Hire someone outside CS who can format your book in a very affordable rate for $100 to $150 rather than up to $400 in CreateSpace.

    Nice article about CreateSpace, Thanks!

Jeny, you have a point there. I did my own layout, but if I hadn’t your services look they would have been a good option. Thanks for your input. I notice you also convert to Kindle. Do you have any examples that can be viewed? I might be interested.
